Kawasaki has introduced their new “Z” series bike in the market;
it’s the Z650 which is inspired by the Sugomi design of the Z1000. It’s launched
to reposition the Kawasaki ER-6n.
Its chassis and swing arm are redesigned which allows the
monoshock suspension to sit above at a more convenient position. The body
panels are slim and very close fitted which gives it a mean look. The instrument
cluster consists of multi-functional LCD screen with an analogue tachometer and
it also has gear position indicator at the center.
The engine is now Euro IV compliant and is parallel twin cylinder
which displaces 649cc. but the engine power is redced to 68bhp from 71bhp for
better fuel efficiency and mid range torque. Kawasaki ensures it is 6.8% more
fuel efficient than the ninja 650 or ER-6N. the bikes is now 19kgs lighter than
the Kawasaki ER-6N.
The Kawasaki Z650 has 6 speed transmissions and also is
equipped with slipper clutch. It is only available in one color that is black
and also available in one standard version. The standard version consists of Alloy
Wheels, Electric Start, ABS, Disc Brake.
The new sharper styling along with the aggressively raked
tail makes this motorcycle appear more like a sport-naked than a naked-tourer.
